The NSS Symbol

INTRODUCTION

The NSS Symbol

The NSS badge plays an important role in the representation of every NSS student through its attractive and prominent nature.

The Badge of NSS is inspired from the Giant Rath Wheel of the well known Konark Sun temple aka. The Black Pagoda located in Odisha, India.

Same as on our National flag, the wheel represents progression and movement. The Badge of NSS also symbolizes designing of new creations, positive ideology, subtle behaviour and constant efforts. NSS is an experience every person should obtain and the contuinity and dignity must be constant like a moving wheel.

The badge of NSS consists of 8 bars. These 8 bars represent 24 hours of a day. The red colour of the badge signifies the valour, energy, high spirit and the courageousness of an NSS volunteer. The blue colour from the badge represents our mother Earth from which the NSS volunteers are a small but major part in spreading social welfare in young minds of students.

Overall the symbol of NSS stands for continuity of good change and  the continuous striving of the volunteers of NSS to bring that change.

This symbol is there on the batch of NSS which is to be pinned on the left side of the chest near the heart on the wore garment . To pin the batch on the left side near the heart signifies the closeness/importance of NSS in the minds of NSS volunteers.
